Second in our ‘At home with WINners’ series, this event is your chance to hear from our current Entrepreneur of the Year, Rebecca Howard of award-winning communications agency Cynergy.
Hear who and what has inspired Rebecca to achieve outstanding success through a business that stays true to her core values. She’ll share openly and honestly how she and her team have navigated the highs and the lows of business, and how she came to win three major business awards in one year. Rebecca’s presentation will be followed by plenty of time to ask questions and network with other WIN members and attendees.
Also sharing her secrets of success will be Emily Humphrys from Cambridge Research Biochemicals, current holder of the Innovation through Technology Award. Cambridge Research Biochemicals (CRB) was bought by Emily Humphrys and Alison White in February 2000 in a management buy-out from the specialty chemical company, Avecia, formerly part of Zeneca and ICI. The two women had met 10 years earlier, in 1990, while working at what was then ICI. They remain the two sole owners and executive directors of CRB. The company has since taken on a non-executive Chairman and a number of specialist advisors to increase the management input and explore new growth opportunities
Due to demand and the addition of another inspiring speaker, the venue for this event has changed to Thistle Hotel, Middlesbrough. Teas and coffees will be available on arrival with light snacks after the talks and a glass of wine to help you network.

This is the first of two events WIN will be hosting with Rebecca this year. Look out for details of a further event planned for September, when Rebecca will invite you to an exclusive interactive event at her offices in Stokesley. This is a chance to hear more about what winning the Award has meant for Rebecca, and is also an opportunity to raise money for local charity, Butterwick House Children’s Hospice.
