The CIPR Northern Conference is themed – Social media backlash? and will be held on Tuesday 22 June, starting at 9.30am at the Radisson Hotel, Framwellgate Waterside, City of Durham, County Durham DH1 5TL. Rory Cellan Jones will deliver the keynote speech.

The big debate is around social media – is it all hype and no substance or is it changing the way we communicate forever? Come along to this year's CIPR Northern Conference to find out more and have your say.

This conference is a must attend event for anyone responsible for managing their organisation's reputation. It attracts professionals from the north east, north west and Yorkshire regions of the CIPR, with speakers from across the UK.

The exciting mix of keynote speakers and practical workshops means that there is something for everyone, no matter what their level of experience or expertise.

And it's a great way of networking with peers – or potential clients and don't forget the attendance can count towards CPD hours.

Thomas Power, chairman of Ecademy and onetime apprentice to Lord Sugar, one of the most connected people in the world.
Phil Roberts, Head of Regional and Local Programming for the BBC in the North East and Cumbria
